I would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to a unique institution, Hillel Academy of Fairfield, CT. Hillel is more than just a Jewish nursery through eighth grade day school.
Our brochure features a logo with the caption Champions of Learning. More than just a catchy slogan, I firmly believe these three simple words capture the essence of Hillel’s crucial mission. Hillel Academy has been at the forefront of Jewish education for the past 46 years. We are blessed with a splendid faculty, in both secular and Judaic studies. The administration and staff are singularly committed to helping each child, from pre-school through eighth grade rise to every challenge, and to perform scholastically at the top of their individual ability. We at Hillel are dedicated to the understanding and development of each child’s unique talents, skills and learning styles.
As part of educating the whole child, Hillel Academy students participate in programs beyond just the classroom setting. They are encouraged to be involved in student government events, community service, and a wide range of cultural, recreational, and social activities. Hillel offers many opportunities for children to learn new skills and improve on existing ones through our creative and eclectic after-school clubs run by our parent body. Focusing on the specific needs of our students, Hillel Academy offers resources and enrichment curricula for students on either end of the academic spectrum. Each student’s progress is continuously assessed throughout the year, ensuring that no one “falls though the cracks.”
For eight of the last ten years, Hillel Academy has finished at the top of the annual Connecticut State Science Fair. Our middle school students are currently subscribed to a national Stock Market Educational Program where they learn the fundamentals of economics and business while investing imaginary money in the market. Competing with other students nationwide, Hillel’s students are learning to research companies, read financial statements, invest intelligently and make informed decisions, skills that are so critical to their futures.
We at Hillel Academy aim high, and we take pride in that aim. Because of our high standards, we are producing successful, confident, well-rounded children who are ready to take on greater responsibility and challenges as they progress from grade to grade. But even more importantly, the students of Hillel Academy are genuine menches, considerate of each other in their words and deeds. The children at Hillel are respectful because they are respected, estimable because they are esteemed, and kind because they are cherished.
